After players earn their first Soul Stones, the Drift House opens on the Docks. By talking to the Keres Twins at the top level of the Drift House, players can spend the Soul Stones on a variety of powerful upgrades, such as allowing higher tier Equipment and Runes to drop, increasing the caps on Manor upgrades, unlocking Fabled Classes, and more.
Ore and Red Aether Converters are available here as well, allowing you to convert either one to the other at a 2:1 ratio.
Note: Max levels shown in (brackets) in the "Max" column require
.Soul Stones[]
Soul Stones are acquired by completing Scar challenges and bosses.
Bosses always drop a minimum of 100 Soul Stones, no matter how high your New Game Plus thread is. They'll drop new Soul Stones the first time you beat them in a new Thread (for a total of 800 Soul Stones per thread). One thing to note is after obtaining the True Ending, you can choose to advance 2 Threads at a time. If you defeat a boss after doing this, they will drop 200 Soul Stones to account for the previous Thread.
Soul Stones are also given to you by NPCs after finishing their dialogue. Each time you return to the Docks, there's a chance an NPC will have new, unique dialogue, represented by a speech bubble above them. If you listen to all of their unique dialogue, they'll give you 500 Soul Stones. This happens once per NPC. It can also take a long time, so it might be ~30 hours before you finish one NPC's dialogue. NPC dialogue occurs in a set order, with Maria the Pizza Girl being the first to start and finish, followed by The Blacksmith and The Enchantress.

Re: Embroidered Investments[]
Before New Game Plus, buying this upgrade will let you acquire +1 gear for the first two Armor Sets in the last 2 biomes. So you don't need to upgrade this past its first level until you enter NG+.
However, you ideally shouldn't buy this until you've found and bought all the +0 Armor Set pieces, and you should hold off on upgrading it for as long as possible. This is due to how finding blueprints affects your chance to find them in future chests:
- +0 blueprints decrease the chance of future blueprint drops, but only before you've bought them.
- +0 means normal Leather Weapon, before +1/2/etc.
- This means that you should buy every +0 piece you find to maximise future drop rates.
- Every +1/2/etc blueprint you find decreases the chance for future blueprints to drop.
- Eg. Leather Weapon +1 decreases it, so does Leather Leather Weapon +2, etc.
- So if you find a +1/2/3 piece before you've found all the +0 pieces, you'll have an exponentially harder time finding every +0 piece.
It's also wise to not overspend your Soul Stones on this upgrade at first. Not only do the blueprints need to be found, they also need to be purchased using rapidly increasing costs of gold and Ore. If you can't afford to upgrade the gear you find, you are better off spending your Soul Stones on increasing the caps for your Manor upgrades instead.
Critical breakpoints for this upgrade include Ranks 4, 6 and 9, which let you have multiple Unity Bonuses at once:
- 4 - Allows both a Lv. 100 & a Lv. 50 Unity Bonus.
- 6 - Allows two Lv. 100 Unity Bonuses.
- 9 - Allows three Lv. 100 Unity Bonuses.
Re: Runic Horizons[]
It's not possible to find a +1 Rune before New Game Plus, so it's recommended that you only increase this after entering a new NG+ thread. Similar to Embroidered Investments, don't overspend your Soul Stones on this upgrade if you're having trouble beating Fairy Chest challenges.
Manor Upgrades[]
These upgrades increase their maximum level caps for Manor upgrades. Each upgrade adds +10 to the maximum cap for their main skills (which are shown as I, II, III).

Fabled Classes[]
Once unlocked, you can press Up/Down on the given class in Character Select to change them into their Fabled Class version.
Fabled classes keep their weapons in Scars, which may increase/decrease the difficulty of the Scar, depending on your skill level with each Fabled Weapon. In this way, using fabled classes to complete Scars and gain their Soul rewards can be an indirect buff to your overall Souls gain. In particular, Enkindled Boxer is very powerful in challenge scars.
See Fabled Weapons for more info on Fabled classes.

Heir Selection[]
These upgrades add new options in the Soul Shop menu. They let you choose a preferred class/spell for the right-most class, or enable a randomised kit for the left-most class. These options can be toggled on/off at any time (see Screenshots below, or click here).
Icon | Name | Description | Notes |

Existential Appeasement | Lock the right-most hero in Character Selection to always have a specific spell. | Adds an option to choose a preferred spell. | |

The left-most heir will also always have the (aka Innovator) trait, which provides a guaranteed +25% Gold Gain buff, making this upgrade very useful for farming Gold. |

Re: Music Box[]
For Early Access players who have previously fulfilled Achievement unlock criteria, using the Jukebox will unlock those Achievements.
Re: Cosmic Overload[]
Certain Soul Shop upgrades have initial caps, and cannot be increased further until this upgrade is purchased. Cosmic Overload increases those caps to their absolute maximum (listed in parentheses). It's only available after making 65 purchases in the Soul Shop.
Re: Strange Transaction[]
Strange Transaction lets you buy 150 Soul stones. The cost starts at 2500 Red Aether and 2500 Ore. It can be used up to 100 times, but for each purchase you make, the price increases substantially, eventually capping at 5 million Red Aether and Ore. Each use counts as an "unlock" towards
.This is intended as a supplemental upgrade to give you some additional Soul Stones as you work through multiple playthroughs of NG+, and to ensure Red Aether and Ore have a purpose once you've maxed out all Armor Sets and Runes.
While using this to gain early Souls may be tempting, it's best to save your Ore and Red Aether, as you will need a lot of both to upgrade your Armor Sets and Runes. You'll know when you have enough spare to spend on this.
