The Soldier is an enemy encountered in Citadel Agartha and Axis Mundi. It attacks with a huge sword swing.
Behaviour[]
The Soldier is a slow-walking melee enemy. It always try to close in on the player, walking towards them if they're at medium range or farther. Once close enough, it will attack by swinging its huge sword. Although slow and easy to dodge, the Soldier should not be taken lightly as it boasts the highest hp and damage of any Tier 1 enemy, rivaling with many T2 and T3.
It cannot fall off edges on its own, has a great resistance to knockback and will get hurt by spikes & environmental damage (water/clouds) if it fall into them.
Attacks[]
Sword Swing[]
The Soldier swings its sword forward in a large descending arc, while sliding forward a little.
Although relatively easy to notice and dodge, pay attention as the attack's range is large and can reach you behind walls.
Location[]
Soldiers can only appear naturally in Citadel Agartha and Axis Mundi (including within red portals).
Once you reach NG+1, you will unlock the use of burdens:
- enabling the the Citadel into Champions will evolve every Soldier in
- each level of the the Bridge to instead spawn as its next higher tier, the Champion enabled adds a 10% chance for a Soldier in the Citadel and on
- using both burdens make it possible for Soldiers in Citadel Agartha to evolve into their highest variant, the Royal Knight.
Variants[]
