Class Passive[]
- The Ronin’s class passive is Lone Traveler, granting +20% Strength.
Weapon
The Ronin’s weapon is the Katana.
- The Katana has the longest range of any melee weapon, and one of the longest attack lockouts.
- The long lockout on the Katana's slash can be mitigated by dashing or jumping immediately afterward.
- Can attack diagonally, and easily pierces through walls and ceilings.
- Hit with the very edge of the blade to Skill Crit.
- This is one of the easiest and safest Skill Crits in the game to perform. If you are not Skill Critting constantly, you are dealing no more damage than the Knight's .
- Cannot attack while Dashing.
- The Katana has the slowest mana regen in the game.
- If you time it correctly you can hold a direction forwards and then quickly snap the swing backwards, while this cannot hit multiple enemies it effectively doubles the hitbox range of the Katana and allows you to correct mistakes.
Talent
The Ronin’s Talent is Immortal Kotetsu.
- Can be performed instantly or held in order to aim.
- Release to teleport a set distance, dealing 220% Magic Damage to all targets hit.
- The Ronin is invulnerable while teleporting, which makes it a great positioning tool.
- 5 second cooldown.
- Cooldown is reset if it kills the target.
Class Tips
The Ronin is the ultimate Weapon-based glass cannon, and should be built as such. Tied with the Astromancer, it has the lowest Vitality mod in the game, whereas its passive gives it the highest possible Strength scaling in the game.
Therefore, focus on Strength, Lifesteal, Critical Damage and Super Crits. For defense, building for high Armor on the Ronin is actually preferable to Vitality considering the class has a 40% penalty to Vitality's effect.
Investing in Intelligence and Random Magic Crits is also worthwhile, for Immortal Kotetsu is one of the highest damage talents in the game, only surpassed by Demon Tamer, as Kotetsu provides a powerful and versatile finishing blow after the weapon's Skill Crit.

Lady Quinn Quotes[]
- Oooooh! A Ronin! I w-w-wish I had a straw hat! Ronins are the masters of spacing. M-make the most of your massive range, and turn enemies into b-b-bite-sized bits from afar! Sure, you can still hit foes that are close to you, but w-where's the fun in that?
- D-did you know you can angle your slice as a Ronin? It's great for hitting things slightly above and b-below you. Ronins have to always look cool, so they take a long time to sheathe their MASSIVE Katanas. But they can move while sheathing in the air, so it pays to s-s-stay airborne. Keep your distance, stay in the air, and angle your w-weapon to really be effective!
- If you hit with the t-tip of your blade you'll l-land a Skill Crit! Keep yourself in that sweet spot and you'll dish out a t-t-ton of damage! Wanna know a cool trick? If you attack in the air you can m-m-m-move and drag your blade into enemies for easy Skill Crits. Ch-cheesy? I think not!
- Don't forget to use your Talent, Immortal Kotetsu. Sure it sounds cool, but it looks even c-c-cooler! It will teleport you a super long distance, and though it can't go through walls, it will slash anything in-between. You can aim it too, so it's a great way of g-g-getting out of trouble. Or into it, you sly d-d-dog. Just be careful where you end up, b-b-because there's no immunity window afterwards.
- D-don't forget to Dash! If you Dash after attacking you c-can actually swing faster than just sticking a-around like a ch-chump. R-R-Ronins are deceptively fast, so get zippin'!
