Class Passive[]
- The Ranger's class passive is Hunter, granting +10% Strength and Dexterity.
Weapon
The Ranger's weapon is the War Bow.
- The bow deals the same damage regardless of the trajectory, velocity, or angle of the arrow.
- When an arrow is nocked, the arrowhead will flash briefly. Release the arrow at that moment for a Perfect Release.
- Perfect Releases are Skill Crits.
- While the bow is being aimed mid-air, the player falls slowly. If the player is still in the air when the arrow is shot the player recoils in the opposite direction.
- If arrows are constantly shot directly downwards the player will recoil upwards. Coupled with Spin Kicks, skilled Rangers can stay safely above melee enemies like Soldiers while freely attacking.
- The bow's firing animation can be cancelled by Dashing.
- You can use this to quickly get away from a dangerous spot after shooting an enemy, spin kick on nearby enemies, or even as a panic button to stay in mid-air for a bit longer to think about what to do.
Talent
The Ranger's Talent is Ivy Canopy.
- A temporary platform is created below the player that blocks Mid-sized Projectiles.
- Standing on the platform causes the Ranger's weapon attacks to inflict
Spore Burst, causing affected enemies to explode after 1.25 seconds, dealing AoE Magic Damage.
- Standing on the platform causes the Ranger's weapon attacks to inflict
- 7 second cooldown.
- The cooldown starts only after the platform has disappeared.
- The platform itself does not deal damage to enemies, but does inflict a Magic-based hit effect when created, meaning if you create the platform near Trick Walls, it will open them.
- When fighting ground-based bosses who can jump, such as Estuary Lamech or Tubal, keep in mind Ivy Canopy counts as a ledge for them to land on. This can lead to unusual and dangerous attack patterns depending on where the Canopy is placed. This behavior also occurs with
Ivy Seed as well as .
Class Tips[]
The Ranger's class passive significantly boosts Strength and Dexterity, and the War Bow deals more damage per shot than any ranged weapon besides the Handheld Ballista. As such, it is best to build them around these stats: Strength, Lifesteal, Weapon Crit. Chance, Critical Damage and Super Crits.
Rangers are one of the safest classes in the game, therefore healing up with Lifesteal after infrequent damage is more efficient than building for Armor or Vitality.
Spells can be used effectively by the Ranger in addition to Ivy Canopy's Spore Burst, but increasing these capabilities should be limited to Manor upgrades, relics and runes.
Notable interactions with recommended relics are listed below:
Aite's Sword - Very strong with Ranger's ability to snipe enemies from range.
Cloak of Eventide - Remain stationary as much as possible and take precise shots from Cloak to safely whittle down enemies in hectic rooms.
- Especially good with the .
Hermes' Boots - Lets you stand on spikes and attack from advantageous positions. Not something many classes can do.
Lamech's Whetstone - Applies
Magic Break on Weapon Skill Crits. Good if you use spells often, and also increases the damage from Ivy Canopy's
Spore Burst against that enemy.
Weird Mushrooms - Applies
Spore Burst on enemy deaths. Goes well with Ivy Canopy/ and Lamech's Whetstone.

Lady Quinn Quotes[]
- Oooooh, I-I-I love Rangers! Bows are one of my favorite weapons!
B-b-bows are built for power, so if you shoot while airborne, expect a lot of push-back. BUT that also means if you shoot downwards while airborne, y-y-you can technically keep yourself afloat! Trust me on this one. (Science is complicated, so try not to think about it t-too much.) - D-d-don't forget to create Ivy Platforms in the heat of b-b-battle! They're a great perch to snipe from, and can save you if you fall into a pit of sp-sp-spikes. Plus it only takes a few seconds to charge back up! It's also helpful to know that firing an a-arrow while standing on an Ivy Platform will inflict Spore Burst on enemies. These are great for clearing out lots of b-b-b-butt guys! I mean bad guys.
- Don't forget, shooting an arrow is s-s-s-slow, but you can always Dash away early! I-I-I call it the Dash Cancel, and you can do it with a lot of stuff. It's great!
- The best Rangers are the mobile ones! If you're really confident, it's b-b-best to a-always be in air! M-m-mix Bow shots with Spin Kicks and you can be in the air forever! Plus you'll look super cool while doing it!
