The Plonky is the strongest variant of the Plinky that can be encountered only as a Commander or in NG+. Stationary, it periodically shoots void projectiles in two fixed patterns.

Behaviour[]

Plonkies are stationary airborne enemies that periodically shoot small void waves, alternating between two patterns. They never move, do not target the player, and attack at regular interval. They're predictable making it relatively easy to deal with them when by themselves: either use a ranged attack or spell from a safe spot, attack between two volleys, or safely dash through their void projectiles to get to them. However, in large numbers, or along more mobile or dangerous enemies, they can become a lot more treacherous.
Beware, as Plonkies' projectiles can prove more dangerous than those of its two weaker variant, the Plinky and Planky, since they can go through walls and are wider than the small fireballs.

Attacks[]

The Plonky attacks at regular interval and always alternate between the two following pattern:

Void waves pattern 1[]

At regular interval, the Plonky will shoot a volley of six void waves in a fixed pattern: top-left, left, bottom-left, top-right, right, bottom-right.
This pattern makes it easy to Spin Kick the Plonky, or attack it from below safely. You can also dash straight through the horizontal waves to get to them.
These void waves, which are Mid-sized Projectiles, travel in a straight line, can go through walls and can be countered by a lot of means, like the Tiny Icon Talent Knockout Punch Knockout Punch talent, the Tiny Spell Icon Shield of Thorns Shield of Thorns spell or Tiny Spell Icon Wind Wall Wind Wall .
Since they're made of void, they can also be safely dashed through once you have the Icons Heirlooms Large VoidDash Pallas' Void Bell heirloom.

Void waves pattern 2[]

At regular interval, the Plonky will shoot a volley of six void waves in a fixed pattern: top-left, top, top-right, bottom-left, bottom, bottom-right.
This pattern makes it easy easy and safe to attack the Plonky from the sides.
These void waves, which are Mid-sized Projectiles, travel in a straight line, can go through walls and can be countered by a lot of means, like the Tiny Icon Talent Crescendo Crescendo talent or Chef's Tiny Weapon Icon Frying Pan Frying Pan .
Since they're made of void, they can also be safely dashed through once you have the Icons Heirlooms Large VoidDash Pallas' Void Bell heirloom.

Location[]

Initially, Plonkies can only appear as Commanders.

Once you reach NG+1, they can appear as regular enemies through the use of burdens:

Variants[]

Plinkies are one of the only enemy family to also feature a Mini-Boss variant, along with Rocket Boxes and Orbs.
