The Plinky is an airborne enemy encountered in Citadel Agartha, Axis Mundi and the Kerguelen Plateau. Stationary, it periodically shoots fireballs in a fixed pattern.
Behaviour[]
Plinkies are stationary airborne enemies that periodically shoot fireballs. They never move, do not target the player, and attack at regular interval. They're predictable making it easy to deal with them when by themselves: either use a ranged attack or spell from a safe spot, or attack between two volleys. However, in large numbers, or along more mobile or dangerous enemies, they can become a lot more treacherous.
Attacks[]
Fireballs[]
At regular interval, the Plinky will shoot a volley of four fireballs in a fixed pattern: up, down, left & right.
These Mid-sized Projectiles travel in a straight line, do not go through walls and can be countered by a lot of means, like the talent,
the spell or
the talent
.
Location[]
Plinkies can only appear naturally in Citadel Agartha, Axis Mundi and the Kerguelen Plateau (including within red portals).
Once you reach NG+1, you will unlock the use of burdens:
- enabling the Citadel Agartha into Plankies will evolve every Plinky in
- each level of the Citadel Agartha, Axis Mundi and the Kerguelen Plateau to instead spawn as its next higher tier, the Planky enabled adds a 10% chance for a Plinky in
- using both burdens make it possible for Plinkies in Citadel Agartha to evolve into their highest variant, the Plonky.
Variants[]
Plinkies are one of the only enemy family to also feature a Mini-Boss variant, along with Rocket Boxes and Orbs.
