The Planky is an airborne enemy first encountered in The Stygian Study, The Sun Tower, and in NG+, in Citadel Agartha, Axis Mundi and the Kerguelen Plateau. Stationary, it periodically shoots fireballs in two fixed patterns.
Behaviour[]
Plankies are stationary airborne enemies that periodically shoot fireballs, alternating between two patterns. They never move, do not target the player, and attack at regular interval. They're predictable making it relatively easy to deal with them when by themselves: either use a ranged attack or spell from a safe spot, or attack between two volleys. However, in large numbers, or along more mobile or dangerous enemies, they can become a lot more treacherous.
Attacks[]
The Planky attacks at regular interval and always alternate between the two following pattern:
Fireballs pattern 1[]
At regular interval, the Planky will shoot a volley of six fireballs in a fixed pattern: top-left, left, bottom-left, top-right, right, bottom-right.
This pattern makes it easy to Spin Kick the Planky, or attack it from below safely.
These fireballs, which are Mid-sized Projectiles, travel in a straight line, do not go through walls and can be countered by a lot of means, like the talent,
the weapon or
the spell
.
Fireballs pattern 2[]
At regular interval, the Planky will shoot a volley of six fireballs in a fixed pattern: top-left, top, top-right, bottom-left, bottom, bottom-right.
This pattern makes it easy and safe to attack the Planky from the sides.
These fireballs, which are Mid-sized Projectiles, travel in a straight line, do not go through walls and can be countered by a lot of means, like the talent or
Ronin's
