The Partisan Maiden is the strongest variant of the Spear Maiden that can be encountered only as a Commander or in NG+. It attacks by dashing at you with its spear, or throwing two of them at you from a distance.

Behaviour[]

The Partisan Maiden is a melee/ranged hybrid enemy that likes to stay at mid/close range. It can attack by dashing at you with its spear, and while it walks slowly, this dash attack allows it to move quickly. It can also attack by throwing two of its spear at you from a distance.
While rather predictable and not too hard to dodge, it's still a dangerous enemy as it has some of the highest hp and damage of all enemies.
While walking, it cannot fall off edges on its own. While dashing, in most cases, it will also stop at edges, but beware as certain slopes and props can allow it to go beyond and surprise you.
It has a good resistance to knockback and will get hurt by spikes & environmental damage (water/clouds) if it fall into them.

Attacks[]

When attacking the player, Partisan Maidens randomly choose between one of their two attacks with no preference for one over the other.

Spear Dash[]

After a brief wind-up, the Partisan Maiden dashes at you over a medium distance.
While the tip of its spear looks like it could hit you behind walls, it doesn't.
Attacking the Partisan Maiden from above or below is generally safe but beware as the knockback from your attack can make it jump while dashing, making the attack more dangerous.

Spear Throw[]

The Partisan Maiden throws two spears forward over a long distance, with a short delay between them.
The spears travel fast, horizontally at first, but are affected by gravity and given the space, will travel downward.
Because of that, standing above a Partisan Maiden is generally safe, but standing below them can be risky.
The spears are Large Projectiles that cannot go through walls and can be countered by a few spells and talents like the Tiny Icon Talent Bastion Bastion talent or the Tiny Spell Icon Shockwave Shockwave spell .

Location[]

Initially, Partisan Maidens can only appear as Commanders.

Once you reach NG+1, they can appear as regular enemies through the use of burdens:
