Heirlooms are powerful artifacts found throughout the kingdom that grant permanent upgrades to all heirs. Each upgrade is Metroidvanian in nature, typically allowing the player to reach previously inaccessible areas.
Each Heirloom is personified by a large statue found in an Heirloom Chamber. The player must complete a challenge room offered by each Heirloom in order to claim its power. There are seven heirlooms total.
