Class Passive[]
- The Duelist's class passive is Show-off. Casting any Talent grants Charged, making your next Weapon attack a Skill Crit.
- Has strong innate synergy with Combat Roll, but also has success when earning resets with Valkyrie's .
Weapon
The Duelist's weapon is the Saber.
- The Saber's air attacks are called Swings and ground attacks are called Lunges.
- A Swing can instantly combo into a Lunge upon landing.
- Swings have the shortest animation lockout of any melee weapon, meaning 3 Swings can be performed in the space of a single jump.
- Runes that keep you in the air, like Vault
Runes and Dash Runes, are especially helpful with the Saber. - When using a Curio Shoppe to swap out for Talents that recharge on hit, skillful use of Swings allows the player to rapidly recharge even long cooldown Talents, like .
- Runes that keep you in the air, like Vault
- This weapon can be used while dashing.
- Dash Attacks are Skill Crits.
Weapon Synergies[]
Relics[]
- Boxing Bell
- The fast attack speed lets you build up Combo very quickly.
- Clotho's Spindle
- The +10% Crit chance seems small, but the benefits are quickly noticeable considering the volume of attacks the Saber it able to put out in a short span of time.
- Also increases the chance of Super Crits by at least 5% (as Super Crit chance = half your Skill Crit chance).
- Glowing Ember
- Fast attacks mean you'll be getting the +75% damage per 6th hit very often.
Spells[]
- spell
- In conjunction with the Saber's air attacks, offers some of the highest possible DPS in the game (as the spell causes Vulnerable, making every attack a Skill Crit).
Talent
The Duelist's Talent is Combat Roll.
- Activate to rapidly roll forward.
- The roll grants invulnerability.
- Deals 80% Int. contact damage, and hits enemies up to 2 times.
- Can be cancelled by attacking.
- With Duelist's class passive, which grants Charged after using their Talent, this lets you score Skill Crits very quickly, without putting yourself too far in harms way.
- Can safely destroy Black Roots.
- 2 second cooldown.
Talent Synergies[]
Relics[]
- Aite's Sword
- Combat Roll's evasive capabilities are great for avoiding damage, letting you hold on to the +150% damage buff for longer.
- Atropos' Scissors
- The +20% Crit damage is excellent, considering how often you'll be scoring Crits.
- Clotho's Spindle
- The +10% Crit Chance also increases the chance of Super Crits by at least 5% (as Super Crit chance = half your Skill Crit chance).
- Obelisk
- The +20% chance for Super Crits gives you even more damage potential per Crit.
Spells[]
- Deal magic damage as you roll through enemies.
Class Tips
The Duelist excels at dealing Skill Crits with its class passive, as well as Random Weapon Crits with the speed of the Saber's air attacks. Its defensive capabilities are excellent with Combat Roll, therefore it's not necessary to build for defense other than Lifesteal.
- The healing of Lachesis' Measure is easily attained with the Duelist's frequent Skill Crits, so if you need more healing, there's no better pick.
- The Saber has high mana regen with the speed of its air attacks as well as its Talent hitting twice for damage, but these aren't significant enough to encourage building the Duelist for Intelligence.
- Use Combat Roll for close-range Skill Crits, and Dash Attacks with the Saber for long-range Skill Crits.
- Combine these techniques by Dash Attacking a target, then transitioning into a Combat Roll through them for another Skill Crit.

Relics[]
Duelist benefits most from Relics that help you get Skill Crits and increase the chance of Super Crits, since they attack very quickly and their Class Passive helps you land critical hits often.
- Aether's Grace
- Aite's Sword
- Ananke's Grace
- Atropos' Scissors
- Boxing Bell
- Clotho's Spindle
- Lachesis' Measure
- Obelisk
- The Icarus' Wings Bargain
- Charged after using their Talent) lets you score critical hits mid-air.
- This is because keeps you in in your flight state.
- This is a huge advantage over other classes who have to perform dash attacks to crit, which takes you out of your flight state and requires using Dash
Runes for chained mid-air crits.
with Duelist's passive (which grants
- Charged after using their Talent) lets you score critical hits mid-air.
- War Drum
- Further augments Duelist's already high DPS capabilities.
Spells[]
In addition to Spells that synergise with their Weapon and Talent, Duelist benefits from Spells that make up for their weapon's limited range and Talent's lack of AoE projectile clearing.

Fabled Class[]
- Press Up/Down on a Duelist in Character Select to change them into Stygian Sharpshooters.
- Must be unlocked in The Soul Shop.
- A Stygian Sharpshooter is the same as a Duelist but starts with .
- The Triangulator is a ground-locked crossbow that fires piercing shots that also ricochet. It doesn't do much damage when it doesn't Skill Crit, but its Skill Crit is also somewhat difficult to pull off, akin to Charged, letting you deal decent damage as you learn the nuances of how to ricochet your shots for maximum damage. . This is alleviated by Combat Roll granting
Lady Quinn Quotes[]
- O-o-o-ohhhh yeah, now we're talking! Duelists put the 'c-c-class' in 'c-c-c-lassy'!!! You never h-h-have to worry about Health if you n-n-never get hit! They move fast, attack faster, and did I mention they can ROLL? You can roll a-a-almost all the time, so if you're just w-w-walking you're just chumpin'.
- If you don't want to get stomped you'll need to master the Saber, your bread and b-b-b-butts (I mean butter). If you're in the air, Saber does a Swing attack. If you're on the ground, the Saber does a Lunge attack. The nifty thing is s-s-s-swings can quickly transition into l-l-lunges. So if you attack just before you land, you can immediately l-l-launch another attack the moment you t-t-touch ground. This will D-D-D-DOUBLE YOUR DAMAGE! This will be your most basic combo, so make sure you practice to become a sw-unging pro!
- D-D-D-Duelists can also do a Combat Roll. While r-r-rolling you'll dodge all enemy attacks. Plus you'll knock back enemies if you b-b-bump into them! The Combat Roll also recharges very q-q-quickly! So roll like your life depends on it (I-i-it probably does)! And there's one more cool secret. If you perform an Air D-d-dash and a Combat Roll at the same time, you can do a Combat Dash Roll. It's like a roll without the g-g-g-gravity!
- Did you know you can break of y-y-your Combat Roll with a L-l-lunge? With this, things c-c-can get really crazy! You can Swing into a Lunge into a Roll into another Lunge for more than TRIPLE the d-d-damage! It's a little t-t-tough to pull off, but with a bit of practice you'll become a s-lun-ol-ging pro!
