Class Passive[]
- The Chef's class passive is Artisan, making any weapon used by the Chef apply
Burn.
- Burn is a Status Effect dealing Magic Damage to affected enemies over 3 seconds.
- Burn ticks 6 times over the duration, and Skill Crits for the last 2 ticks.
- Burn's duration stacks with separate instances of itself, like with
Amaterasu's Sun. - Being a status effect, Burn does not Randomly Crit.
Weapon
The Chef's weapon is the Frying Pan.
- Frying Pan hits are delayed, meaning the player can walk backwards while preparing an attack forwards.
- The Frying Pan can be used while Dashing, but unlike other weapons, this does not result in a Skill Crit.
- Specifically for the Chef, when building for Intelligence the pan damage will be low, making it more effective to play defensively by applying
Burn once and waiting for it to Skill Crit before re-applying. - Mid-sized Projectiles can be reflected if they are hit with the pan.
- Reflected projectiles turn into fireballs that deal 150% Magic Damage.
- Fireballs apply their own instance of
Burn, the duration of which stacks with Chef's passive.
- Fireballs apply their own instance of
- Reflecting a projectile, regardless if it hits anything, grants
Charged to the Chef for 5 seconds.
Charged makes the next pan attack a Skill Crit.
- Reflected projectiles turn into fireballs that deal 150% Magic Damage.
Talent
The Chef's Talent is Stew.
- Stew restores your Health and Mana.
- Stew's healing scales with Intelligence, but the Mana restore is always 150 MP.
- In addition to their healing, Health Drops grant one charge of Stew. Max 3 charges.
- With the upgrade, Mana Potions also grant 1 charge in addition to restoring Mana.
- Does not benefit from .
- Lady Quinn refers to it as the Pot.
Class Tips
- Chefs can easily acquire enormous Mana pools with their defensive playstyle allowing them to rapidly acquire stacks from
Dreamcatcher, as well as take hits for more Mana from
Cosmic Insight and be able to heal up the damage with Stew. - Chef also does well building for Critical Damage, as
Burn easily Skill Crits.
- The large Mana pool with
Arcane Necklace,
Zealot's Ring and
Cosmic Insight can lead to an extremely long-lasting that will deal constant Skill Crits for massive damage.
- The large Mana pool with
Amplification Runes are excellent on Chef as they extend the duration of both
Burn and
Charged.
- 2 runes will increase the
Burn duration from 6 ticks to 7. - 6 runes are needed for an extra Skill Crit on
Burn.
Amplification Runes also extend the duration of
Vulnerable applied by , which makes all ticks of
Burn Skill Crits.
- With 6 runes, a Chef can apply Burn, use Lightning Storm to make those Burn ticks Skill Crits, then as Vulnerable wears off, Burn is about to expire which makes the rest of its ticks Skill Crits.
- Strong against many bosses.
- 2 runes will increase the

Lady Quinn Quotes[]
- H-h-hello Chef! Ready to r-r-roast some bad guys? You may not b-b-be as strong as other heroes, but what your Frying Pan lacks in damage it makes up for it in utility! Did you know you can strike most projectiles and send them back at your enemies? Crazy right? Just avoid the s-s-super big ones. And serving up a fireball sandwich doesn't just look cool. You'll d-deal extra damage on your next attack. Chefs can also c-cook anything at any t-time, so attacking with any w-weapon will Burn baddies. So d-don't be afraid to charge straight for ranged enemies - they should be afraid of you!
- The Frying Pan is pretty cool, but if you a-a-ask me, it's all about the POT! Whip it out to cook nourishing meals on-the-go when you're low on Health. Your Cook ability lets you do this in a flash, making Chefs one of the most durable classes out there. Plus, it holds m-m-multiple charges! Your Pot refills b-b-by picking up Health Drops, so it pays to p-p-p-plunder!
- Like Mages, the Chef is all about Intelligence. So maxing out your Strength won't do you much good. Your Frying Pan m-m-m-may improve with Strength, but everything else needs Intelligence. This means your Spells, Cooking, and Reflected Fireballs all use Intelligence. But remember, all classes get some benefits from every stat, so make sure you treat everyone fairly while you're building that giant manor of yours!
Trivia[]
- Prior to Early Access Patch 0.7.0, Chefs were called Cooks.
