Rogue Legacy 2 Wiki

Just as in the first Rogue Legacy, traits are made available when selecting the first heir in the lineage after the player's first death.

Traits change the Heir's capabilities in a variety of ways; some provide benefits like auto-revealing treasure chest locations on the map. Others are simply cosmetic or have no effect. Some can be extreme hindrances, like Tiny Icon Trait One-Hit Wonder.png One-Hit Wonder, which results in the Heir dying after taking any damage.

The Tiny Upgrade Icon Universal Health Stair.png Universal Health Stair upgrade in the Manor counterbalances all negative traits with a gold bonus that scales in accordance with how severe the trait is.

Trait descriptions are hidden until the player selects an heir with such trait for the first time.

Traits are listed alphabetically according to their Scientific names.

Traits List

Rogue Legacy 2 Traits
Image Name Description Effect Gold
Icons Traits GainDownStrike.png Aerodynamic Strike like an eagle. Straight downwards.
Your Spinkick is replaced with Downstrike.
Spin Kick is replaced with Downstrike, which sends the player downwards at high speed until they reach the ground, or hit an object or enemy.

Can't see damage dealt.
Hides boss health bars too. +25%
Icons traits NoImmunityWindow.png Algesia Stubbing your toe may lead to cardiac arrest.
No immunity window after taking damage.
Removes the brief invincibility that is normally gained after taking damage.

NOTE: The Tiny Relic Icon Ambrosia.png Ambrosia relic does not provide any benefit while affected by this trait.

N/A Antique N/A Heir starts with a random relic, even if the relic has not been seen before. Resolve cost still applies. Can occur twice on the same Heir.
Icons Traits EnemiesBlackFill.png Associative Agnosia A table is just a word to you.
Enemies are blacked out.
Enemies are rendered with a black silhouette.

Can be very punishing to beginners, but is easier to deal with as you learn enemy attack patterns.

WARNING: Makes Challenge Portals almost unplayable, as enemies are essentially invisible.

Icons Traits MagicDamageBoost.png Bookish Next-level nerd.
+50% Magic Damage and +50% MP Capacity. -25% HP.
Relics like Tiny Relic Icon Blessing of Life.png Blessing of Life and Tiny Relic Icon Gnawed Bone.png Gnawed Bone give bonus Max HP based on Base HP before the 25% penalty, making them especially attractive with this trait.
Icons Traits MapReveal.png Cartographer You've got maps on the mind.
Map is revealed but you have no position marker.
Makes navigation harder, but shows all chests and rooms.

Note that you can only see the map for your current biome (this is an intended effect).

Icons Traits LowerStorePrices.png Charismatic The #1 indicator for success.
15% gold discount from all shopkeeps.
Only applies to the Blacksmith and Enchantress.

Does not discount Ore or Red Aether costs.

Icons Traits LongerCD.png Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
/ Exhausted
Sudden siesta assault.
All Spells and Talents have a cooldown.
Difficulty depends on your class, and how often you use your spells. Tiny Class Icon Duelist.png Duelist and Tiny Class Icon Mage.png Mage have a particularly hard time. 25%

Amazing with Tiny Class Icon Bard.png Rock Star.

Icons Traits EasyBreakables.png Clumsy Like a bull in a china shop. Or any shop really.
Objects break on touch.
Objects are broken when touching them. This has the benefit of being able to walk through Black Roots without damage, but has the drawback of destroying the green platforms in Pishon Dry Lake if you don't land on them from above.
Icons Traits NoColor.png Colorblind Color hasn't been invented yet.
You can't see colors.
Can make Nightmares' radius much harder to see. 25%

Icons Traits BonusChestGold.png Compulsive Gambling / Lootbox Addict A world of sharks, pigeons, and whales.
Only chests drop gold and chest values swing wildly!
The gambling roll only affects the quantity of gold dropped from the chest; Gold Bonus applies normally to whatever drops. Roll ranges from 0% to 350% chest value.

Icons traits BonusMagic2.png Crippling Intellect You are an arcane vortex.
-50% Health and Weapon Damage. Mana regenerates over time.
Incredibly powerful on a Tiny Class Icon Barbarian.png Barbarian or any high HP class as it helps negate the health penalty. The mana regen is potent, resulting in a full mana bar after only a few seconds, meaning the weapon damage penalty can essentially be ignored.

Strong synergy with Tiny Relic Icon Zealots Ring.png Zealot's Ring (+25% spell damage at full MP), since your mana will almost always be full.

Amazing with Tiny Spell Icon Gravity Beam.png Gravity Beam.

Icons Traits SmallHitbox.png Disattuned Mind into matter.

25% less health, but you can only be hit in the heart.

Health -25%.
Heir's hitbox is dramatically reduced.

Many hazards and projectile walls are outright bypassed with this trait. Notably the fireball and arrow walls from traps, S.A.W. blades on the floor, and the orange projectile wall fired by Murmur.
Is a reference to the game Undertale.

WARNING: Makes you very hard to see in challenge portals.

Icons Traits CheerOnKills.png Diva You are a star!
Everyone gets a spotlight but all eyes are on you.
All of the screen is black, but all enemies and the player are illuminated by spotlights. Some projectiles are illuminated. Flaming pinwheels (the rotating spike balls) are not, but they can be heard by their clunking chains.

If you die/retire, the audience exclaims their disappointment.

Icons Traits ItemsGoFlying.png Dyspraxia /
Butter Fingers

Items go flying!
Icons Traits YouAreSmall.png Dwarfism You are adorable.

Easier to handle with ranged classes, who can stay away from the blast radius.

Icons Traits FMFFan.png FMF Fan You have good taste.
You're probably Korean.
This trait is not functionally a debuff despite the gold bonus.

FMF means Full Metal Furies, another Cellar Door Games title.

Icons Traits DisableOnHurt.png FND / Stressed Functional Neurological Disorder.
You become Disarmed when stressed.

Talents that restore Mana by dealing damage, like Tiny Icon Talent Makeshift Explosive.png Makeshift Explosive or Tiny Icon Talent Pirate Ship.png Pirate Ship, also count as attacks.

Everything is old-timey tinted.
Icons Traits OneHitDeath.png One-Hit Wonder / Fragile One shot, one opportunity.

The Heir only dies if actual damage is taken.
Relics such as Tiny Relic Icon Lotus Stem.png Lotus Stem, Tiny Relic Icon Coeus Shell.png Coeus' Shell, and Tiny Relic Icon The Serrated Handles Bargain.png The Serrated Handle's Bargain are excellent with this trait.
Relics can be taken freely, as Resolve is meaningless to a character with 1 HP.
Icons Traits CanNowAttack.png Pacifier Playtime is over.
-60% Health and you love to fight!
Picking up a weapon from a Curio Shoppe as a Pacifist turns your trait into Pacifier, allowing you to deal damage while still retaining the Gold Bonus. HP penalty still applies. 150%
Icons Traits CantAttack.png Pacifist Peace for profit.

-20% Health, but you can dash in ANY direction.
Icons Traits SuperFart.png Super IBS Every day is Taco Blast Tuesday.
Your Talent is replaced with Super Fart.

Icons Traits ColorTrail.png Synesthesia The color of movement.
Everything leaves behind color.
Anything that moves leaves behind a trail of color that fades after a short while. 25%
Icons Traits Vampire.png Vampirism You were bitten by a syringe.
Gain 20% of your Weapon Damage as Health, but you take 125% more damage.
Build for defense, as the increase to damage taken is severe. Still useful even in higher Threads depending on how much Armor and HP you manage to stack.
Best avoided on caster classes due to their low Weapon damage and weak defense.
Icons Traits NoMeat.png Vegan Meat is murder. It's literally trying to kill you.
Eating food hurts you.
